Two Insulation monitoring devices delivered from Bender

Last week the first Safety-Circuit parts for our new e-car were delivered. The Insulation Monitoring Devices (short: IMD) of Bender GmbH & Co. KG supervises the state of insulation between high voltage components and the grounded low voltage System continuously. In case of an error the IMD separates the accumulator from the rest of the vehicle reliably.
A second IMD, located in the Charger, monitors the state of insulation when charging the accumulator as well as putting the electric powertrain into service. With that, we achieve the highest safety possible for the driver, the race engineers and the car in all periods of service.
