HVC-Technologies provides GIGAVAC relays

For the fourth season in a row HVC-Technologies domiciled in Untereisesheim near Heilbronn provides us with high voltage relays from GIGAVAC. The company founded 2002 in Santa Barbara, California, is considered the market-leading producer of high voltage relays and sealed switching products. Since 2003, GIGAVAC products are being distributed exclusively by HVC-Technologies in Germany.

For our new racing car, code name EFR08e05, the relays are being used as accumulator isolation relays (in short: AIR). Their purpose is the certain separation of the accumulator from the rest of the car in case of an accident. The relays are also being used to pre- and discharge the intermediate circuit of the car’s tractive system. The parts from GIGAVAC proved to reliable for our last 3 vehicles so we are confident they will continue to do so in the future.
